1999 Affordable Housing Scheme


1999 Affordable Housing SchemeThe 1999 Affordable Housing Scheme provides for the building of new homes on land owned or purchased by a local authority.  It also allows for the purchase of turnkey developments by local authorities.

This scheme targets people with low to middle incomes and is primarily aimed at first time buyers.  To qualify for a home under the 1999 Affordable Housing Scheme a single applicant can earn up to €40,000.  For a two-income household, eligibility is based on the combined values of 2.5 times the larger salary plus the smaller salary.  This combined income must be no greater than €100,000.
