Part V Affordable Housing


Part V Affordable HousingPart V affordable housing refers to properties acquired under Part V of the Planning & Development Act 2000-2002 (as amended). A local authority may require up to 20% of a residential development to be provided for affordable and social housing. 

Part V affordable housing is primarily for first time buyers.  Income thresholds can vary between local authorities, however, as a guide, a single applicant can earn up to €58,000 and joint applicants can earn up to €75,000 combined income.  Mortgage repayments should not exceed 35% of an applicant's net income.
