A local authority may make housing sites available at a low cost to people on the social housing list, local authority tenants, tenant purchasers or certain tenants of voluntary housing associations.
Voluntary housing bodies providing homes under the Capital Assistance or Capital Loan and Subsidy Scheme may also avail of the low cost sites scheme. Persons taking shared ownership through a group housing project sponsored by a housing cooperative or local authority are also eligible.
